Health and Safety

Gränges should be a safe workplace where employees feel good, are happy and develop. Gränges has zero tolerance of serious injuries and accidents.

Casting houses and rolling mills are working environments that contain significant health and safety risks.

The Group has strict safety routines. Gränges continually invests in various kinds of safety measures to prevent accidents at its production facilities in Finspång and Shanghai and continually reviews how safety can be further improved.

Health and safety issues are dealt with within the framework of a management system in accordance with the OSHAS18001 global standard. The Shanghai facility is also OSHAS18001-certified.

The work is based on a thorough risk analysis of the operations and an action programme that includes both technical improvements and safety procedures in the day-today work, as well as behavioural changes.

Gränges also constantly works on the risk assessment and substitution of chemicals so as to reduce the personnel’s exposure to them.

Gränges arranges safety training courses every year. Production personnel are also given special safety training, as well as training in risks related to hands and fingers. New employees are given training in safety issues as part of our induction programme.

No serious accidents occurred in 2015.
