Welcome to Konin
The plant in Konin supplies product segments such as heat exchanger materials, construction and structural sheets, battery enclosure materials, sealing and packaging materials, as well as common alloys for the distribution industry.
The production plant in Konin started its operations as a state-owned enterprise in 1966. Initially, it focused on aluminum production in the electrolysis and casting department. In 1972, the rolling mill department was launched, marking the beginning of rolled flat aluminum products and aluminum alloy production.
The company, formerly known as Huta Aluminium Konin, was privatized in 1995 and merged with Impexmetal S.A. in 2008. In 2009, the electrolysis department was closed, and production continued solely in the casting and rolling departments.
In 2020, the plant was acquired by Gränges AB, leading to a name change to Gränges Konin S.A. The annual production capacity of the Konin plant is approximately 100 thousand tons of rolled flat products. With investments in both the casting and rolling departments, the annual production capacity is expected to increase to 140 thousand tons of rolled products by 2025.
